The first week we were out of school, we went to Galveston for a few days with friends. We had a great time. It was nice to relax and have Jason to ourselves for a few days. The boys had a blast playing in the sand on the beach. They played football and baseball and lots of other things. We went to the Rainforest Cafe and rode a surrey through Galveston. Cash's favorite part was riding on the ferry across from Crystal beach. We had lots of fun and can't wait to do it again.

Summer '14

When my grandmother asks why I haven't updated this blog lately...I guess that means I better get busy doing just that. We have honestly been super busy this summer. We have been to Galveston, Houston, College Station, San Antonio, back to Houston, and Jason and I are about to head to Hawaii, (yes, I said Hawaii) while he works and I lay around.  I am so excited and blessed to be able to go with him on this adventure while the boys get to spend some time with his parents having lots and lots of fun I am sure. Jason is going for a work detail and I am going to go with him for a week. We just celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary, so I am super excited to be spending this time with him even if he has to work. We will round out the summer with a trip to see my grandma and grandpa and find some things to do in Dallas that the kids will enjoy. I plan on uploading and catching up with pictures very soon, when I find my darn cord to make it quick and easy. I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and I will be sharing more soon and try to keep up with this thing better. I laugh because I only have like 13 followers and I am pretty sure only 2 or 3 look at it, but I enjoy sharing and reading others blogs also. It seems more personal than facebook, so I will be trying to keep this up. Enjoy!!

Wonderful World of Scouting

Tiger Skit

This weekend was Crawford's Blue and Gold Scout banquet. As we have said before, we were so excited when we found out we were having a boy because of sports and scouts. Crawford loves to do. He is constantly wanting to be involved in extracurricular activities. Most of them, of course, are sports. But this year, when it was time to sign up for scouts, he was ready. We have been on a camp out, been to many different go and see its, earned different patches, beads, and belt loops, and much more. The first year scout is a Tiger. They have so many accomplishments they have to do before they can get their Tiger badge. Crawford and his friends worked hard, attending meetings and working on other things and they received their badges Saturday night. It was a great ceremony and fun time and we now have an official "Tiger Scout." This, we hope, is the first of many accomplishments on his way to being an Eagle Scout like his daddy. Thank God for little boys!!

My Valentine

My Valentine

He's a hoot and a half, always the life of the party, and of course sometimes over does it to point of making me crazy, but he is mine.
This picture is from when we went to Alaska for Charlie's wedding two years ago. It amazes me how different he looks when he is not hiding behind the beard he currently has crawling across his face, or the long hair he is growing because that was our deal (grow beard=grow out hair). He is the sweetest, most kind hearted, God loving, God fearing, hardworking, best daddy, best friend a girl could ask for and he's been my Valentine for 13 years now. I could not imagine my life without him and thank God everyday that he is in it and can not wait to see what life has in store for us.
Happy Valentine's Day J Fred. I love you bunches!

Pinewood Derby 2014

When Jason and I found out we were having a boy when I was pregnant with Crawford, his first words were "I can't wait for scouts!" Well, this year, Crawford (first grade) was ready for it to start. This past weekend was the Pinewood Derby. When we got the kit back in December, I pulled up Pinterest and started researching different types of cars. There are so many to choose from. There were wienermobiles, batmobiles, dill pickles, angry birds, and many more to choose from. Crawford immediately told us he wanted a police car because he wants to be like his daddy. (Who doesn't drive a police car, but it was still sweet!) He and Jason sanded it and painted it and put the stickers on and were ready to roll. He didn't place in the top three, but had a smile on his face the entire time. He told me it was okay (we all know how competitive I am) because he did it with his daddy and that was all that mattered. Jason and him have already started deciding what is going to be on next years car. He is on his way to his Tiger patch and will get it next month at the blue and gold banquet. I can't wait for his big smile and for him to get that patch and on his way to an Eagle Scout just like his daddy is. Being a mother to the two sweetest little boys ever is way too much fun. I thank God everyday for giving me these blessings and allowing me to get to spend my life with them.

Silly Boys

Cash and Crawford trying out his new scooter

Crawford at our Knights of Columbus social for church chowing on a chicken thigh

I promised more blogs and pictures to the whole 13 followers I have, here are some pics from my phone that I thought were cute. Cash received a scooter from Aunt Holly and Uncle JJ for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it; especially when his big brother pushes him on it. They played for hours on it when we got home from the party. The other pictures are Crawford at our Knights of Columbus social for January. He was getting after his chicken thigh. He normally doesn't eat at them because he is so picky, but this time, they were speaking his language. He is a chicken eating boy.

For Cash's 2nd birthday we invited family and some of his friends from daycare. Unfortunately, his friends could not come, but we still had a blast with the family that was able to make it. He had Lolly and Grumps, Grammy and Poppy, Aunt Holly, Ellie, Brooks, Crawford, mommy, daddy and his sitter Mrs. Rebecca and her daughter Sarah Beth. We had a fun little photo booth set up and there was lots of running around and playing on his scooter from Uncle JJ, Aunt Holly, Ellie, Asher and Brooks. Crawford pushed him around on it and he had tons of fun. Since Cash is on a gluten free diet, he had vanilla chex and icing while everyone else enjoyed a chocolate cake and pizza. He had fun playing in the icing that he did have though.  We had a great time with those that were there and Cash seemed to have fun, so that is all that matters.

A Little Bit of Christmas

Christmas 2013 has come and gone, and we are still recovering from our trek. Jason and I agreed this was our last year we were going to head out to families house and be gone from our home on Christmas/Christmas Eve. We started by heading to Van to make a quick visit and have Christmas with my family. We stayed two nights and got on the road to Jason's families in Magnolia. We had our traditional Christmas Eve and Aunt Donna's house and then to his parents for the rest of the week. Christmas Eve Christmas Mass did not go the way as planned because Mr. Cash decided he did not want to sit quietly so Jason and I ducked out a little early and left Crawford to finish with the Roesners.  The boys were okay with spending the nights at the places because we reminded them Santa already knew where we would be that night. Crawford was so tired from the travelling, he went fast asleep and we were able to get things done that needed to be finished up. We then headed over to Granny Roesner's for a wonderful Christmas day where we were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and of course had tons of food. Yummy! The boys got everything they asked for and then some. Jason and I got a new truck for each other (bought during Thanksgiving).
