Day 25

A picture of my day...
well, the second picture is how I spend my day. My class. They are so stinking cute and funny. I absolutely love my job, my coworkers and of course my students. I am one lucky teacher. They are the sweetest (most of the time) little guys and gals on the block. The other picture is of Jason, Crawford and Asher fishing at my parents house in their stock pond. This is how I wish we could spend every day. It was gorgeous weather, lots of fish biting and the boys were playing together. I love my life!!!

Day 24

A picture of something I wish I could change...

There is nothing really that I would change. I am seriously trying to think of something I would change in my life. I hate that family members have passed away and the way they died, but who am I to argue with God? I think that everything that happens, happens for a reason. I would love to change some former hairstyles, or my hips, butt and thighs, but other than that, I am a happy camper. So, if I have to put a picture up, I guess I would change....

Crawford growing up so big, so fast. I love that he is so smart, and changing daily, but I would love to have my litte baby back. Guess it is time for another huh?!?

Day 23

A picture of my favorite book...
I wish I had some class answer to this like "Gone with the Wind" or "Casa Blanca" or some other great old fashioned book. But, truth is, I like trashy novels. I do like and have read several times "Pride and Prejudice", but other than that and the "Holy Bible", my ready stays trashy romance, or thriller killer novels. I love the "Twilight" series and have read them all several times. I am currently trying to get through "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo." And every once and a while, I even throw in a Harloquin Romance book. Truth is, I just love to read. My mom and I pass them back and forth with my grandma and then back to my mother in law and around again. It is one of my favorite passtimes. I often find myself cracking up at the way some of the books go into detail about, well you know, and find my face red as I read it. I also love Tess Gerritsen. Her books are face paced, medical murder mysteries. Really, if it is a book, and I haven't read it, I will.

Day 22

Something I wish I was better at...
I love crafts. I love scrapbooking, taking pictures, making mums and garters and all that artsy stuff. However, I can barely sew a button on. As a matter of fact, if I want something sewed, I give it Jason to do. Jason sews very well in fact. Both of my grandmas sew and my grandmother in law, but for some reason, I just didn't get the sewing gene. So, I wish I could sew better.

Day 20

A picture of somewhere I would love to travel...
If you read my post about something I want to do before I die, then you know where I want to travel to. I want to go to the Vatican. I think that it is beautiful. I hope to one day be able to go for a few days so I can take it all in.

Day 18

A picture of my biggest insecurity....

I don't have one. A picture of it that is. My biggest insecurity is my body and it's shape. I think in my life, I have been all shapes and sizes. I am the girl that hides behind my kid, husband or chair so that I am not photographed. I constantly think that my teeth are to yellow, my eyebrows to bushy, my booty too big, etc. etc...so, I have no pictures to show ya, because if I did, it would not be an insecurity huh.

Day 17

A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently...

Technically, this picture would have to be all of our staff, but this is our director at our school. Trinity Episcopal School, where I am a teacher at, has been the best thing to happen to me and for me. I took a job after school had already started, replacing a teacher that had been there for a while and already planned the year out, so I didnt know what to expect. But, these ladies took me in and have been great to me. I love my job, my coworkers and my kiddos. So much, that I am going to take my early childhood test this summer so I can get certified in it also. Trinity has been awesome for me and I know God knew what he was doing when he opened this door for me.

Day 16

O my, to say who inspires me most would be hard. I am inspired by many. So, let me show you the pictures of most of the people that do inspire me.

This picture is of my brother, Jerami and his family. He inspires me as does my sister in law. They are raising three kiddos in a great Christian way, and it is so much fun to watch them grow up and be such a big part of their lives.

My mother and father in law inspire me also. My father in law is a machinist and works hard 6 days a week there and comes home and works in his shop, garden or anywhere else anyone needs him. My mother in law makes sure the family is together for functions and often stays up late hours planning the next get together.

Jason is of course an inspiration. He works hard every day and is a wonderful father. He loves his job and it makes me happy that he is doing what he loves.

My daddy is an inspiration to me. He has been through so much (surviving a burn--ugh) and is a great father, brother, son, cousin, uncle (just ask any neice or nephew), friend and nephew. O yea, and a great Grumps also.

The other picture is of my mom, her brothers and sisters and my grandma. All an inspiration. My family is very close and the glue that sticks us together is each of these people.

The picture of the "young un's" is my Papa Pete, Mammy Jo and her brothers and sister in laws. How can you not be inspired by these guys? They are all up there in age, but young at heart. Each year we have a reunion and they say how we may or may not see them the next year, and each year, I swear they look younger and are full of more spunk!! They are really inspirational.

Day 15

There are several things on my "bucket list". And, of course, I want to watch my baby boy grow up and any other child that may come along. I want to watch my child(ren) do anything and everything they want. But, Jason and I two things we want to do, one before we die and the other before we are fifty.
First, before I die, I want to go to Rome and see the Vatican. Since I am a Roman Catholic, I think this is the most awesome place we could ever get to visit. It is the birthplace of my religion and I think just being in the city would be awesome.

Second, Jason and I have decided we want to see all fifty states before we turn 50, together. (He is 361 days older than me, so I guess we must do it in his 49th year!) When we started dating, we decided we wanted to travel as much as we can. We want to do "something rememberable" in each state. We have gotten several checked off of our list...
Texas...met and married, been to several big cities and done many things.
Arkansas...Hot Springs, Eureka Springs (and more)
Missouri...Branson (several times), Spring Field (Bass Pro Shop)
Florida...Pensacola Beach
Georgia...Jekyll Island, Glynco, FLETC
Tennessee...lived, Nashville, Memphis (lots)
Nebraska...College World Series (Omaha)
Colorado...Durange (first Crow family ski trip for Jason)
I know there are some missing, I have them checked off on a map. We take pictures of each and I have two scrapbook pages for each state for us to fill up. So, this is another thing we are working on.

Mrs. Kara's Class Chair

If I was writing the post about what my nights look like lately, I might have added these pictures and this post. I have to great privelage of working at a private school here in Marshall, TX. Crawford goes to school here and I get to see him alot throughout the day. So, I consider myself lucky. Since this is a private school, we are also privately funded. And since I love my job and need to get paid, we have each year (yes, this is my first, but my coworkers keep me informed)an annual fundraiser and gala. Okay, so this little country bumpkin from Van is like a what?? Yes, a gala. I'm just glad it is casual dress. The pictures are from my chair this year. You see, they give us a raw wood chair and tell us to paint it and we have to someway, incorporate our classes hand or foot into it. So, my wonderful husband and I thought a camo chair (because it is an adirondak chair) would be a great idea. He took it to the refuge and painted it with a little help. Then, my idea was to make little "deer" out of their hands and feet. Yeah, bright idea Kara...and lot's of work!!! Thanks to Mrs. Rosie (another teacher with her own chair), we got busy and got things done. Our chair may not be the prettiest one, or go for the highest bid, but by golly, we did it!! The scripture on the front is "As the deer pants for the water, o my so longeth after the" (ps. 42:1). I love it. It is also one of my favorite praise and worship songs. LOVE IT! So, here is Mrs. Kara's Class 2010-2011 chair for Trinity Episcopal School.

Snow Dy February 4, 2011

Yes, another snow day. As a teacher, I have mixed feelings about this subject. I love spending time in the snow with my family and playing outside with the neighbors. I just don't want to make up the days on spring break or at the end of the year. But man, this day was fun. Crawford road his four wheeler until it would no longer go, we played until we couldn't feel our toes, we had snowball fights and snow ice cream, all ending with a cup of hot chocolate. It was another fun day. And, yes, it is supposed to do it again tonight. So, we will see.

Day 14

Someone I cannot imagine my life without...
These two boys!!
My boys!!

I have a blessed life. I love every minute of it. I don't even want to think about my life without these two guys. Yes, it was just me and Jason for a while, stuck off in Tennessee, but the second this little guy (now almost four...ugh!!!) came into this world, I knew what I was here for. My boys...Jason and Crawford. They make my world. Yes, I talk to my momma every day and of course my life without her is non existant and she is a great part of it, but these boys are my life. I live and breathe for them both. I can't wait to see them every day. (Which, thankfully, my job allows me to see Cman all day, everday as we are in the same school!) They are my life. :)

Day 13

A picture of my favorite band or artist:

Two words:
Wrangler butt!
Just kidding. What I meant was King George. I love new music and Texas country, but I think that George is my all time favorite. I have seen him in concert (8 months pregnant and an ice storm didn't stop me). He is still as good now as he was way back when my parents first started listening to him. I think he is an amazing man, and humanitarian and just all around good ol' country boy.

Day 12

Something I love...
Well, there are several somethings I love. I love my family, my pet, Jesus, my job, my friends, reading, scrapbooking and lots more. But, if you were to ask me what I really love and am so proud of...it is this...

Texas A&M. I have always heard, once and Aggie, always an Aggie and I believe it. Though, my final degree didn't come from there (I took my Mrs. instead), I am still and always will be a Texas Aggie. I love everything about Aggieland. I love the Maroon Whataburger building, the school, the town of College Station, and mostly Aggie Football. I stinking love it. There are so many great memories there, since I watched the band march when I was in high school, until my brother was there and I got to go to my first game, until my wedding day at the church across the street from there. It is more like an obsession at times, as I realize I am the one watching the games when Jason could care less and I am the one that jumps on anyone that talks bad about our school. I love Aggieland and always will. There is a saying in Aggieland that says "From the outside looking in, you don't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it." This is so true.

Day 11

Ugh, something I hate. I hate cleaning house. I love a clean house, but man...I would so rather be outside playing with Crawford, reading a book, doing laundry (yes, I love to do laundry, just not clean the house!!) I know it is something that has to be done, and I like a clean house, I just don't like getting there. I still do it, but I do not like it!!

Day 10

A picture of the person I do the craziest stuff with. Well, this would be an easy one if I actually did crazy things. I have lived a pretty tamed life. Actually, I can't say that I have done anything too wild at all. I like simplicity and had the fear of God in me where my daddy was concerned, so I was and still am a pretty tame person. I can't think of too many things I do or have done that are either crazy, wild or messed up. However, I can say that if I was to do something crazy, it would probably be with my older brother. You see, he can talk me into almost anything and often did as a child. He is also the one who got me to take my first shot of alcohol on my 21st birthday, came to College Station to take me to the places he had fun at when he was there before me, and lots more. I am sure he will also be the person that if I ever want to get in trouble, I call.

Day 9

Picture of someone who has gotten me through the most...I have two of those...
The first one is my mom. She is awesome! Just ask anyone in my family who their favorite Aunt or sister is and more than likely you are going to get my mom as an answer. She roots for everyone doing everything, pretty sure she has been at every birth our family has had (and that is alot of births...trust me!!), and she doesnt miss a ball game if she can help it. She is a rock that is a great daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

The other one who has gotten me through lots is my husband, Jason. He is so great. We have known each other only ten short years, been married for almost seven of those, have one beautiful son and hopefully more to come. But we had only been dating a short time when one of my best friends passed away in a car wreck and he had to get me through that. Also, my daddy (as most of you know), had a bad accident that landed him in the burn unit of Parkland for three weeks and I had to go in the "tank" and scrub his burned skin off. Jason was with me through that. We have ups, downs, highs, lows, but he gets me through it all. Of course, the most important day was when Crawford was born and I had to have an emergency C-Section and had to get knocked out so Jason got to see it all and was there as they got Cman out and worked on him to breathe. I know that if there is anything that goes wrong in our lives, he is the one I want by my side.

Day 8

Day 8...A picture that makes me laugh. Well, I have many and have enjoyed going through lots and lots of pictures. Unfortunately, the ones that make me laugh the hardest are on my other computer, so I will have to add them on here when I get home but these two crack me up also.

The one from our wedding is when we were at our reception doing the "Aggie War hymn". What you can't see (because I can't load that picture our I would lose my job) is what happened afterwards. My family THINKS they are t.u. Longhorn fans because they have some ugly orange clothes, but really, they are just haters. My little cousins were doing the Longhorn sign on the other side of the room. So, me in my beautifuly wedding gown, started flipping them the bird. So, when I see this picture, I laugh remembering that.

The other is from when Stephie and I decided we would be the good and bad for Halloween. Oh my goodness, enough said. At the time I thought I looked cute, but now that I look at it, I wonder what the drag racers thought as they came in to the races. Jason thought it was hilarious, and I guess that is all that matters. Let me also mention, this was the night Stephie and Derek decided that they were mad about each other, so I say it was the angel/devil act that got them together.

day 7

What I treasure most....lots and lots and lots.
I treasure my true love waits ring that my parents have. I treasure my life, many things that God has granted my me.
The angel is a one my mom gave me when we lived in Tennessee. It is a willow, which I collect. But, it was the angel of remembrance. It was so that everytime I looked at her, I would remember my mommy. Yea, like I could forget her.I talk to her on the phone everyday. Thanks mom!!

The frog was given to my by my Mammy Jo when we lived in Tennessee. It is a prayer frog. Much like the Angel, it is to remember to pray. It is on our kitchen window sill so I know everday to remember to pray.

The ring is my engagement ring. It is a treasured item because it is from Jason, from his heart. He did it all by himself. It is currently at the jeweler for repair, and I feel naked. But, these are my favorite treasured items.
